I had a broken spring in the center of my roll up garage door. David showed up right on time, took one look and immediately said he could replace it easily. Since the door is 22 years old he asked if I might want to have him install 1 spring on each side with a heavier cable, or if I simply wanted to stay with a single, longer and stronger spring in the middle. The prices David offered me were very reasonable for either option, and at no point did he try to upsell anything at all. He went right to work (had to move a lot of stacked up stuff inside the garage out of the way, but he did it kindly and happily.) David serviced the rollers and tracks as well and fixed something so that the door will never again come loose and fall off track - which it has done twice in 12 years. Before he left he helped me reprogram the entry code and made sure absolutely everything was functioning as it should.

David is soft spoken, friendly, hardworking, and kind - and he definitely knows what he's doing! My first choice had initially been to go with another company - but I changed my mind instantly after hearing what he had to say. David changed my mind with his honest and straightforward answers to my questions.

My solid advice is do not hesitate to call First Garage Door & Gate for your garage door needs. Ask for David. You will not be disappointed!

My garage door wouldnt open for some reason and i wasnt sure who to call. I was referred to this place by my sister in law. And i am so glad i gave them a call. We received attentive and timely service. The cost of product replacement was reasonable, and the garage door mechanism work was completed promptly. Jonathan provided excellent customer service. The reviews truly speak for themselves. Thanks so much Jonathan!

Very very happy! I had a broken driveway gate and was fortunate to have Mike take care of it within 1 hour! From the beginning, he was thoughtful and honest about what it would take. I trusted his expertise and couldn't be happier with our gate. He was attentive to detail, replaced the rollers that were worn out, and was flexible regarding timing. I will recommend him to all my friends who are building or repairing garages/gates. Grazie Mike!!!

Utilized Yelp project to repair garage door broken spring. I inputted my zip code and Yelp did the rest. Apparently Yelp sent an email to all certified repair shops.

I got a response from 3 garage repair businesses. One gave me a 2 hour windows to come provide estimate and never showed up. The second came and wasn't confidant and perhaps was an ESL Barrier.

The 3rd was Jonathan from First Garage and Gates gave me an estimate cost for parts up front. He honored the appt time we agreed on, came and repaired, and tested. Threw away old parts, then oiled/serviced both of my garage doors.

He provided a 2 year warranty on parts and receipt via email.

Easily deserves 5 starts!

First Garage was a great find! David, their tech, showed up in just half an hour after confirming i was home - talk about speedy service! They nailed the estimate before even arriving, which matched the final bill perfectly. Gotta love that transparency.

David didn't just fix the broken coil; he went the extra mile with some preventative maintenance that saved me on a future bill (realigned a screw bracket which was scraping the side of the door, putting extra tension on the motor). It's refreshing to see someone who actually cares about their work. I'll definitrly be calling First Garage for any future garage door issues. Thank you to David for his professionalism and expertise. Great quality. Good value. Didn't keep me waiting around all day with a multi-hour arrival window. 10/10.
